An academic study was conducted on the #IHadAMiscarriage campaign to look at the intersection of social media, storytelling, and miscarriage support which resulted in a published article in the journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology (2020).

“About 10-20% of all known pregnancies unfortunately end in miscarriage. Despite its common occurrence, there is still a lot of stigma surrounding miscarriage and many women find that their emotional and psychological needs are unmet as they go through a devastating grieving process. Dr. Jessica Zucker started a campaign on social media using the hashtag #ihadamiscarriage to address this cultural silence.”
